Plastic Recycling
Commercial Collection & Processing
Plastic recycling is the process of recovering and reprocessing plastic waste into reusable raw materials or new products. Recycling Quotes provides commercial plastic recycling for rigid plastics (HDPE, PET, PP), film and stretch wrap, and industrial plastic waste — with pickup, sorting, and processing through certified facilities.
Commercial Plastic Recycling That Scales
Plastic recycling is complicated. Resin types, contamination levels, and local processing capacity all determine whether your plastic waste actually gets recycled or ends up in a landfill. Nationally, only about 5-6% of plastic waste is recycled — but commercial operations generating clean, sorted plastic streams can achieve dramatically higher rates.
Recycling Quotes works with businesses that generate consistent volumes of specific plastic types — HDPE containers, PET bottles, PP packaging, LDPE stretch wrap, and industrial scrap. We design collection programs that keep streams clean and sorted, which is the single most important factor in whether plastic actually gets recycled.
For operations generating mixed plastics, we provide sorting services at our processing facilities. Clean, sorted streams are sold to domestic reprocessors. Contaminated or non-recyclable plastics are directed to waste-to-energy facilities rather than landfill where possible.
What We Accept
Everything we process goes through certified facilities with full documentation.

From Waste Stream to Raw Material
Identify Your Plastic
We assess what resin types and volumes you generate. Clean, single-resin streams command the best processing rates and highest recovery.
Collection Setup
Containers, bags, or roll-offs — sized for your volume and placed where plastic waste accumulates in your operation.
Pickup & Sorting
Scheduled pickup on your cadence. Mixed loads are sorted at our facility by resin type. Contaminated material is separated.
Processing & Certificate
Clean plastic is baled and shipped to domestic reprocessors. You receive weight documentation and a Certificate of Recycling with diversion metrics.
Plastic Contamination Kills Recycling Rates
Not all plastics are recyclable. Not all recyclable plastics are accepted everywhere. We sort out the confusion.
Waste Diversion Goals
If plastic goes to landfill, it sits there for 400+ years. Even modest plastic recycling programs can improve your overall diversion rate by 5-10 points.

Plastic waste is one of the most visible environmental issues. Being able to document your plastic recycling rate sends a strong message in sustainability reports.

Clean, sorted HDPE and PET have commodity value. A properly designed collection program can offset disposal costs — especially for high-volume generators of stretch wrap or containers.

Recovery Rates That Matter
Stretch wrap program diverts 40 tons/year
Distribution center implemented dedicated film collection. 40 tons of LDPE diverted from landfill annually. Revenue from baled film offsets program cost.
Manufacturing scrap recovery at 98%
Injection molding facility captures runners, sprues, and rejected parts. Clean single-resin scrap sold back to reprocessor at commodity rates.
Retail plastic packaging program
120 stores collecting HDPE and PET packaging. 28 tons diverted in year one. Featured in company sustainability report.
Plastic Recycling Questions
Which plastics, contamination rules, and what actually gets recycled.
View All FAQs arrow_forwardWe recycle PET (#1), HDPE (#2), PP (#5), and LDPE/LLDPE (#4 — film and stretch wrap). These represent the most commonly recyclable commercial plastics. Other resin types (#3 PVC, #6 PS, #7 other) have limited recyclability and are evaluated case by case.
Yes — stretch wrap (LDPE/LLDPE) is one of the most recyclable plastics when collected clean and separate. We provide dedicated film collection containers and bagging programs for distribution centers and warehouses generating high volumes.
Food contamination, mixed resin types, and non-plastic attachments (labels, tape, metal) all reduce recyclability. Clean, sorted, single-resin streams have the highest recovery rates. We provide contamination training and signage to help your team sort correctly.
We use domestic reprocessors only. Your plastic is baled and shipped to US-based facilities where it's washed, pelletized, and sold back into manufacturing. We do not export plastic waste to overseas markets.
Yes, but recovery rates are lower for mixed loads because sorting adds cost. Where possible, we recommend source-separating your highest-volume resin types and collecting everything else as mixed. Our facility sorts mixed loads by resin type to maximize recovery.
For dedicated plastic recycling pickup, we generally need at least 500 lbs per month of a single resin type, or 1,000 lbs of mixed plastics. Smaller volumes can be included in a comprehensive business recycling program.
Clean, baled HDPE and PET have commodity value that fluctuates with the market. At high volumes (1+ ton per month of clean, sorted material), rebates are often available. Stretch wrap film also has value when baled. We pass through current market rates.
Non-recyclable plastics are directed to waste-to-energy facilities where available, which recovers energy content rather than sending material to landfill. We track and report both recycled and waste-to-energy volumes in your diversion metrics.
