- Remove the truck liner from your truck. Most recycling centers will not do that work for you, so prepare ahead and have it done before you go to recycle it. Do not leave the nuts, bolts, or screws in the truck liner, save those as they can be recycled with other scrap metals, but not with the plastic lining.
- Clean the truck liner. There can be several materials, water, and other dirt crusted onto the liner. Look for other bits of material that might have lodged itself in the liner. Spray it down with a garden hose or just take it to your local car wash and clean it there.
- Cut the liner down into smaller pieces. This can be done with the help of a chainsaw, a sawzall, or a table saw. Once the pieces are smaller, you can recycle them at the nearest plastic recycling bin or center.
